2004-04-19 Heya cutie pie!

Firstly: Hi, Victor!

This weekend was wonderful, wonderful in many ways. I hung out with amazing people and did amazing-at-the-time things.

Friday, it was gorgeous out, and then I suddenly found out that I didn't have to work, so I sat outside in the sunshine and got sunburnt. I met an amazing kid named Mustafa. He's really everything I'd look for in a guy if I were looking, he's really brilliantly perfect. He's amazing, funny, smart, witty... then I found out that he's only 17. So, uhm. I more or less told him to call me in a year. He lives in Grinnell, and was only visiting Iowa City until... well, he kept saying "tomorrow." I think today may've been his tomorrow. Oh well.

Later, I went and saw That One Guy (that's just what he calls himself. Everybody giggled everytime they said it) play at the Green Room. It was fucking amazing. He built this huge harp-shaped thing out of all these pipes and wires and weird shit that I didn't get a good look at, and it evidently had a string going across the entire thing. It all made different noises depending on where and how he hit it. He also had a snare drum that he worked with his feet. It was one of the most amazing things I'd seen for a long time. Then he sang Dr. Seuess's Bread Butter Battle Book.

Went and hung out at Dave's place afterwards, crashed there. Dave's a friend of mine that I never run into in my everyday life. Great kid, that Dave.

I know alot of Daves.

Saturday, I hung out with Mustafa alot. We climbed on things around the creek, and I pulled a muscle in my leg that still hurts. Oh well. We wandered around town and later went to the pseudo-impromptu drum circle outside of Old Brick Church. It ended unexpectedly early, so we all hung out on some couches outside. I chatted alot with a kid named Paul that I'd never really hung out with much before. He's another great, amazing individual. Crashed at his place.

Sunday, chilled, did homework. Weather was less-than-beautiful. A tree fell in the middle of the ped mall -- it was rotted on the inside.

Other things: I ordered a pair of shoes online not too long ago and got them Saturday. Purple Doc Martin's. $20 on Ebay. They rock on so many levels.

Got and responded to an email from Tim. It was... sappy, for him. Sweet in a way, but maybe a little late for those sorts of sentiments.

Got and promptly deleted an email from Nic, of all people. Strongly apologetic; he also talked about how much he missed the good times we had (wish I remembered those), and asked me to call him sometime.

I don't really understand why he emailed me. Again. I thought he would've gotten the hint when I didn't respond to his last one. In retrospect, I shouldn't have responded to the first. But hindsight's 20/20 and Ella F. It just kind of... creeps me out. It's kind of funny, kind of sad, and kind of really creepy. Funny because I don't know how else to find it. Sad and creepy because... the last civil conversation we had was back in September. 7 months ago. We broke up in June, which is almost a year ago. The way he's talking about everything is like he's expecting nothing to have changed from last year -- which is just... kind of sad, really. He hasn't done anything. But also pretty creepy, because not only has he not done anything, but he's been sitting there thinking about me for the past 7 months or so. He said that he's sick of not being able to come up and say "hello" to me when he sees me in public, and I can't help but wonder why he thinks I'd WANT him to do that.

I'm just not going to respond to this email. I have nothing to say to him; at least, nothing kind. If he tries to get ahold of me again, I'll just have to tell him to not talk to me. What's a polite way to say "fuck off?"

Hm... very little else. Need to start the catching-up with my French work. Eek.
